The construction industry can be a stressful environment and increasingly, the industry is waking up to scale of the issue. With this in mind, we have pulled together  some of the resources & materials out there on the web that look at this subject:

Construction News has an interesting News & Analysis Page on the Subject. Mind Matters looks at issues including a link to thier 2018 survey looking to assess the scale of the industry’s mental health issues. You can take part in the Survey here.

Mental Health can also create significant Health & safety issues as highlighted on The HSE Website here – Stress at work – Mental health at work and work-related stress – HSE.

Ultimately, to address the issue we need to focus on 4 areas:

  1. Building resilience & Support
  2. Better Communication Skills
  3. Better support
  4. Better self-awareness

And ultimately building a positive culture in the workplace that encourages people to think about & protect their Mental Health.

If you are interested in investigating this issue further, you may find the Brain PathWays Blog of interest.
