We are delighted to announce that the British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) Height Safety Group has recognised Highwire FD Liz Rickard for her contribution in successfully delivering a new apprenticeship framework.
The award recognises Liz’s work on developing apprenticeships within the industry. Her valuable contribution included creating content that will be used in the forthcoming ‘T’ Levels. These are new STEM alternatives to A-Levels, for students aged 16-18. This new “Trailblazer” initiative includes both off and on the job training. Defined and measurable outcomes are backed up by assessment of both knowledge and skills.
It is great news for those within the industry, as they can now provide approved training to a recognised standard, funded under the Apprenticeship Levy.
Being instrumental in the driving of this initiative, Liz has dedicated her efforts to work with the Institute of Apprenticeships to introduce a structured path for those both joining the industry and those already within the industry seeking to develop their careers. The BSIF have thanked Liz, acknowledging that the initiative would not have been possible without her time and effort.
